Our client is seeking a Databricks Developer to support a migration project focused on moving data from Azure into Databricks. This role will play a key part in the early stages of the project, with a focus on data ingestion, SQL development, and end-to-end data flow processes involving Azure and Databricks. The ideal candidate will bring strong Databricks development experience, hands-on knowledge of Azure-based ingestion processes, and the ability to understand data structures from source through downstream reporting and forecasting systems. This is a 3 month contract to start in Toronto, Ontario looking for an individual available to start working immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and support data ingestion pipelines from Azure into Databricks
• Analyze and understand source data structures to ensure accurate ingestion and transformation
• Support SQL development related to ingestion, transformation, and validation processes
• Assist with operational data workflows, including shipment data and loading into the data lake
• Support forecast-related data movement back into Databricks
• Contribute to end-to-end data flow design and execution across Azure and Databricks
• Participate in the beginning stages of the project and help establish ingestion best practices and development standards

Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience as a Databricks Developer
• Hands-on experience with Azure data ingestion processes
• Strong SQL development skills
• Experience building and supporting end-to-end data pipelines
• Understanding of data lakes and Azure storage environments
• Ability to assess source data structures and determine the right ingestion approach
• Experience working in data migration or data platform modernization projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Hyperion
• Experience with Power BI
• Background supporting BI, master data, or forecasting/reporting environments
