    Children's Support Solutions by Morneau Shepell, is a leader in private multidisciplinary services in Canada. It stands out due to its great expertise in evaluation and intervention with children and adolescents while closely collaborating with their life environments. For almost 15 years, Children's Support Solutions has offered its services in speech therapy, special education, psychology, neuropsychology and psychoeducation to parents, private and public schools, and licenced childcare centres. We combine advanced skills, knowledge and our own client-oriented clinical tools with a deep understanding of the issues that affect all aspects of a child’s development: cognitive, language, motor, social and/or emotional. Children`s Support Solutions expertise hinges on the work of a multi-disciplinary team.

    Summary

    Reporting to the Psychology clinical supervisor, you will perform a variety of assessments/ evaluations and interventions with children and/or adolescents in conformity with the standards outlined by L'Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. Children`s Support Solutions is a dynamic work environment and our Psychologists participate in multidisciplinary exchanges dayly as well as special projects that will afford them the opportunity to travel within and outside the province of Quebec.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide cognitive evaluations in Children`s Support Solutions clinics, schools or daycares;
    • Directly intervene and provide support to children and their families / support network;
    • Work in collaboration with other professionals within a multidisciplinary team;
    • Participate in projects to improve best practice;
    • Clinical support offered through regular consultations and supervision with clinical supervisor;
    • Opportunities to participate in special projects in remote locations and in training opportunities;
    • Perform other tasks as required;

    Succeeding as a Psychologist for Children`s Support Solutions will require the following core qualifications and skills

    • Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology and experience in pediatric psychology;
    • Active member in good standing of L’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec;
    • Knowledge and experience with various assessment and diagnostic tools;
    • Knowledge and experience assessing Autism Spectrum Disorder is an advantage;
    • Travel to schools, daycares and our clinics to meet with various clients.
    • Having a car is a necessity for this role;
    • Bilinguism is an advantage;
    • Experience providing psychological assessments and/or interventions with school-age children;
    • Strong active listening and empathy skills;
    • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team;
    • Ability to manage administrative tasks and working knowledge of Microsoft suit (administrative support is provided by our administrative team (invoicing, managing client waiting list, managing client files and special project coordination);
    • Professional autonomy;
    • Interest and experience working with a varied clientele with short and/or long term clinical needs.
