Role Summary/Purpose
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President Product Development Americas, the Senior Manager of Project Control and Development Processes is an individual contributor role for an experienced and passionate individual with deep experience in project management and driving efficiencies in project execution.

This position is responsible to assure regular product development project control and to establish, maintain and improve upon common engineering methods and processes in a large development organization spread across 6 North American sites. With a wide variety of product lines to support and grow, the organization is continually engaged in a significant number of new product development projects, integrating a combination of mechanical, electronics, embedded software and cloud software technologies. An important part of the Senior Manager of Project Control and Development Processes’ responsibilities is the rollout and continuous improvement of development processes, identification and sharing of best practices to harmonize our approach between all sites, and support of ongoing business projects.

Also important are the monthly capture and analysis of all development metrics, tracking and follow up of project progress versus milestones or benchmarks, and providing the associated reporting and dashboard. This position is based in Montreal, QC, but requires occasional travel to the US and within Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
• Define, document, deploy and continually improve processes of the Access Solutions Americas Product Development organization, respecting Company established guidelines and addressing the identified needs of the Americas organization.
• Identify, evaluate and recommend software tools to standardize and improve team productivity.
• As a peer to the Americas development center leads, jointly roll out the different processes and tools to the locations, providing training and support for these as needed across business functions.
• Collect, consolidate and publish metrics, indicators, KPI's and project status on a monthly basis from all the development centers into a single Americas overall picture. Proactively analyze this data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
• Perform monthly budget monitoring and consolidated reporting for all product development projects across the AS AMER segment.
• Actively participate in Americas-wide cross-functional projects, in some cases acting as a project manager.
• Interact regularly with counterparts in other regions and with corporate teams to assure alignment with them and contribute to overall company policy development in Product Development areas.

Job Requirements
• University degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), bachelor’s degree a minimum.
• 5-10 years of overall experience in product development and new product introduction (NPI) into manufacturing.
• 5 years’ minimum experience in project management of product development and of multidisciplinary activities.
• Experience in development process improvement and roll out across many locations.
• At ease in a change management environment.
• Good general technical knowledge across a variety of our relevant disciplines (mechanical, electronics, firmware & software) an important asset. Experience in an environment that combines these elements in their products is important.

• Strong understanding of the customer’s perspective and needs in using a product.
• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, managing balance between recurring monthly deliverables and long-term improvement projects.
• Proficient with engineering management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Excel, Windchill, Polarion, etc.)
