    DESCRIPTION

    Corning’s Technology Center, Montreal (CTCM) is a team of experts that form the epicenter of software innovation to support the Corning Optical Communications division business.
    The sole responsibility of the CTCM is to discover, develop and deliver software solutions using leading-edge technologies. Technologies like Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computer, Big Data and Analytics.
    In a nutshell, working on the CTCM team means getting the chance to work on fun and innovative projects.

    What you will be doing:
    Your primary role is to act as the voice of the customer's needs, desires, and wishes. The majority of your time will be spent deciphering verbal and nonverbal interactions with the customer to decide what is valuable and then prioritize accordingly.

    You should be business savvy, because you will be making decisions on behalf customers. One of your main responsibilities is to convey what needs to be built and clarify questions, not direct the R&D team on how to build.

    We are looking for a talented and motivated Manager who can hit the ground running and help structure this competence. In a nutshell, you will partner to identify opportunities to repair, enhance, and innovate customer experiences. Most importantly, you will create novel software solutions!

    As the Software Solution Mapping Manager you will:
    - Lead the development, management, execution and documentation of customer engagement initiatives that we call journey maps
    - Act as a software solution expert in support for identified Corning initiatives where software promises a significant value add
    - Facilitate transition away from numerous individual interaction touchpoints that focus on only part of the customer needs towards a complete, end-to-end experience creating overall value
    - Identify common themes between customer profiles keeping in mind the importance of creating universal software solutions

    In addition to this you will:
    - Synthesize complex problems into simple solutions and elaborate software strategy
    - Build and manage a database of current and potential future software capabilities (technology and non-technology oriented) as identified through the journey mapping
    - Interface with software teams (PLM and R&D) and liaison with end users during the development cycle
    - Facilitate hand over and knowledge transfer to PLM organization as project matures
    - Structure and promote CTCM competences related to software solutions

    You have:
    - A strong ability to establish a climate where clients feel comfortable to share
    - Great listening skills
    - The ability to manage small details while keeping an eye on the big picture
    - An Entrepreneurial spirit, are self-motivated and a self-starter
    - The ability to work autonomously and/or within a dynamic team
    - The ability to entertain business and technical conversations with clients at various levels
    - A minimum of 5 years of experience with Customer Journey Mapping, and/or managing a customer experience program or customer engagement process
    - 10+ years related business, commercial and technical experience within the FTTx / GPON / Structured Cabling / Wireless industries
    - Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire a team towards a common goal
    - Sound understanding of software technologies and development cycle
    - Strong customer interfacing skills with international experience as an asset
    - Excellent presentation and professional written communication skills
    - The ability to clearly communicate solutions to customers
    - English fluency with strong written, verbal and presentation skills at all levels
    - The flexibility and availability to travel
    - Demonstrated people and project management skills in inter-disciplinary environments
