Description: Based in Kuujjuaq, Quebec, the Senior Labour Relations Officer (SLRO) is a key role in HR for the Kativik Regional Government (KRG) and the Kativik Regional Police Force (KRPF). The SLRO acts as a strategic business partner and Human Resources / Labour Relations resource for the KRG and KRPF senior leadership and their departments. As an active member of the Human Resources Team, the SLRO works in partnership with leaders to implement strategic HR initiatives that drive team and leadership excellence. In support of their internal clients, the SLRO will work collaboratively with the HR Team to ensure timely delivery of business solutions within the framework of the HR strategy. This individual will have the passion and capability to foster an environment that reflects the organization's vision and values. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources.

Who Can Apply: Applicants should possess a College Diploma in Human Resources, or Bachelor Degree or graduate degree (in Human Resources Management, Industrial/Labour Relations) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of five (5) years of related labour relations and employee relations experience. Experience with unionized environments is required. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRL) designation is preferred.

The successful candidate will have superior verbal and written communications skills, be a strategic thinker and have the ability to invite diverse perspectives, promote an inclusive work environment and support workforce diversity. He/She must have demonstrated initiative and a willingness to be a team player, be extremely reliable, and able to work independently and under pressure. He/She must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to maintain a high degree of tact and discretion.

English is the working language although the ability to communicate effectively in French or Inuktitut would also be an asset.

Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience and in accordance with the KRG Management Salary Grid.

Location: Kuujjuaq, Quebec

Duration: Two (2) year term position with possibility of extension.
