    In collaboration with the Director, Total Rewards, the Senior Advisor, Compensation, contributes to the development, implementation and ongoing administration of compensation programs aligned with the organization’s mission, vision and business strategy, allowing BDC to remain competitive in attracting, engaging and retaining the talent required for its success. The incumbent acts as a strategic player in his/her field of expertise by ensuring that all programs are consistent with the organization’s mission and that they foster employee engagement and performance.
    - Collaborate with the Director, Total Rewards, to develop the strategic plan for compensation and performance; assist in developing strategic frameworks, policies and tools, while ensuring that related issues, organizational risks and opportunities are identified and raised for consideration.
    - Develop and implement compensation programs, including salary structures and incentives plans, that align with the organization’s mission and support its business objectives, with the goal of optimizing performance, attraction, engagement and retention.
    - Ensure that all compensation programs comply with legislative requirements and recommend an action/communication plan for smooth implementation and facilitating effective and consistent application.
    - Manage the job evaluation process by maintaining job families and performing job evaluations; provide explanations of job evaluation results and collaborate with the Human Resources Business Partners and Organizational Efficiency team on optimizing the organizational structure.
    - Work in collaboration with the Talent Management team to ensure that the compensation programs and performance management approach in place are in line with the BDC employee value proposition; reinforce it, encourage employee engagement and stimulate performance.
    - As the subject matter expert, advise leaders and the Human Resources team on how to handle complex compensation issues and challenges related to his/her field of expertise, maintain all program guidelines and plan texts up to date.
    - Keep abreast of the latest developments, changes in legislation, best practices and trends in his/her area of expertise to develop and recommend new approaches that advance the organization’s effectiveness.  


    - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or equivalent
    - 7 to 9 years of related experience in human resources.
    - Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization and provide high-quality customer service.
    - Ability to analyze and resolve issues through innovative thinking and to learn and challenge policies and procedures.
    - Ability to be a business partner, to understand, articulate and develop a compelling vision and business strategies and align others around it.
    - Ability to analyze and diagnose.
    - Excellent written and verbal communication.
    - Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including excellent proficiency in Excel; PeopleSoft is an asset.
    - Fluent in both official languages (both spoken and written).
