DESCRIPTION

Established in 2014, Santé Cannabis is Québec’s first medical clinic and resource centre specializing in cannabis for medical purposes. Santé Cannabis is a centre of excellence in cannabis and cannabinoid therapeutics and is committed to medical cannabis research and the development of best practices in this emergent field.

We are seeking a human resource assistant to support the human resource department in daily tasks. The assistant will be responsible to support with the recruitment, onboarding and training and development activities and tracking for employees and management. He or she will support the development of strategies to support the visibility of the organization's reputation and to support development and growth. Job Description:

Processing accurate information that will support the management team:
Maintaining an updated database with all the information about current employees including personal information, salary, timesheets, and past grievances, keeping documents related to the aforementioned activities stored in an orderly fashion.
Assisting with the recruitment process:
Posting job openings;
gathering information on new applicants;
assisting in screening and rating of applicants;
scheduling and setting dates for interviews;
testing the skills and abilities of potential candidates;
running background checks on potential candidates as well as verifying their references; and
following up with successful candidates.
Assisting with the new hire process:
Opening up a new file for newly hired employees;
ensuring that all benefits and compensations that were offered to employees are delivered;
providing guidance and assistance to new employees;
evaluating the initial performance of new employees; and
answering and addressing all questions and queries employees may have regarding their position.
Assisting with maintaining grievance and employee records:
Maintaining an updated file with all employees’ documentation and information;
keeping records of employee performance reports, grievances, and vacation time, among others; and
drafting and filing the necessary paperwork during employee termination.
Assisting with payroll and benefits administration:
Approving payrolls;
keeping track of employee’s off time, either due to vacation or sick leave;
addressing and answering all payroll related questions and queries;
ensuring that payroll is handled according to the procedure and that all salaries are correct;
providing conflict resolution between employees and company executives regarding special permissions, benefits, and payments
keeping accurate records of all employee benefits and extra compensations.
Assisting with internal event organization and coordination, including recreational events and training activities.
Making the necessary arrangements when a company employee needs to travel.
answering and addressing all questions and queries employees may have regarding their position.
Any tasks needed to help the Hr department and Admin department
Daily tasks:

Addressing and answering questions and queries from any employee regarding their position, salary, promotion, or benefits.
Receiving and answering incoming phone calls and emails.
Writing and handing out documents.
Maintaining an updated database of all employee information and documentation.
Liaising with employees and company executives to provide conflict resolution.
Scheduling appointments and interviews with employees and new candidates.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations or Industrial Relations
Interpersonal and communication skills - both in writing and verbally and during presentations
Display strong customer service skills
Organizational and time management skills
Able to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail, including high-level proofreading in French and English
Computer and administrative skills, organize charts, taking minutes
