    The CAF is pleased to announce the creation of a signing bonus for those who have completed certain recognized training programs or who have the necessary practical experience. You may be entitled to a recruiting allowance of either $10,000 or $20,000.

    To accomplish properly and effectively its tasks, a military ship depends on a flawless communication system. The role of Naval Communicators is to use, configure, monitor, install or administer classified and unclassified computer networks. In addition, they must provide communications by satellite, frequency waves and even light and visual signals. This trade is also available in the Reserve Force (part time).

    • Establish and maintain radio-teletype
    • Establish and maintain computer networking
    • Establish and maintain satellite, tactical voice and visual communications
    • Establish and maintain classified and unclassified computer networks
    • Establish and maintain computer-based message processing network
    • Establish and maintain radio communication control systems
    • Establish and maintain cryptographic and satellite equipment in support of high speed data and imagery exchanges


    In the Regular Force, your work location is not garanteed since you may be asked to work anywhere in Canada. However, if you only want to work in your area, the Reserve Force may be an alternative. Military personnel can be asked to work on atypical schedules.
