    The Senior Analyst is responsible for providing technical support to both external clients and internal stakeholders within the Health & Benefits Consulting team. The Senior Analyst will work on Corporate Accounts across the marketplace, performing various tasks to support the management of our small to medium sized client portfolio, all in the spirit of collaboration and teamwork.


    Takes leadership role in the review and negotiation process of renewal proposals provided by insurers
    Responds to insurers and consultant’s inquiries relating to renewal process and information
    Manages the relationship between clients, administrators, insurance providers and coordinates operational duties among junior analysts.
    Collaborates with the Management team to determine and execute projects or processes in order to enhance/revise new/existing operations
    Provides underwriting services for clients; manages multiple assignments on an ongoing basis
    Support the business development team by participating in new client acquisition processes or assist with quotations on Morneau Shepell’s Small Business offering and association business
    Prepare the specifications and coordinate the market studies of clients, collaborating in the analysis of submissions received and preparation of presentation documents
    Makes recommendations to consultants regarding the profitability of associations, client plan design alternatives and costings
    Participate in the creation and updating of salary deduction and taxable benefit calculation files
    Liaises with insurers regarding claims information, renewal adjustments and final reports to insurers
    Coordinates the preparation of experience and renewal reports provided to consultants,
    Manages multiple databases with information on premiums and claims; generates reports and performs calculations as needed
    Conducts research for, and markets association group insurance programs
    Attends internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends
    Peer review of Underwriting Analyst or Consultant calculations and/or report
    Attend and participates in client meetings on occasion

    Succeeding as a Senior Analyst will require the following core qualifications and skills:

    2+ years of related experience in Group Benefits underwriting
    2+ years of related benefits analysis and/or group benefits administration
    Post-secondary education and/or related courses in group benefits (CEBS)
    Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
    Exceptional customer focus, and some experience with client-facing, service-oriented responsibilities and excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    Time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities effectively with a thoroughness and a great attention to detail
    Proven ability to be a dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
    Advanced-level proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite and specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    Bilingual (French/English) is necessary
