An amazing company in Montreal is looking to hire a Payroll and Human Resources Administrator who will be responsible for the payroll of 90 employees nationwide for managing HR tasks.

Reporting to a down-to-earth and very dynamic CFO, you will be joining a company that offers a great family environment, an on-site parking, a cafeteria and employee area, and a nice office with a lovely view and sunlight streaming in.

Qualification and Important Skills:

- At least 3 years of payroll experience – a must
- At least 1 year of experience in HR – a must
- Bilingualism (English 5/5 and French 4/5) – a must
- Very strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Reasonable, process improvement-oriented and computer-savvy person
- Experience with Nethris – an asset
- Good time management and multitasking abilities
- Some accounting knowledge or experience in payroll journal entries and balancing GL
- Independence and ability to work on their own with limited support
- Resourceful, modern-thinking, easy-going, empathetic individual who is easy to talk to

HR functions include:

- Be the first point of contact for all HR-related queries, including advising management on employee relations
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, referencing and presenting offers
- Conduct orientations and provide support to management and employees throughout the onboarding process
- Participate in all employer relations with the union, including the negotiation process and managing grievances
- Manage all internships and internal employee programs
- Manage all employee files and ensure integrity of HR database

Payroll functions include:

- Prepare bi-weekly payroll within the payroll provider platform
- Ensure that all salaries/wages are paid accurately and in accordance with the laws in a timely fashion
- Update payroll system for changes in salaries/benefits
- Prepare monthly payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and account variances
- Develop best practices for payroll and benefits
- Manage all vacation and absences, group benefits, the pension plan, and CSST and WSIB files
- Prepare year-end reports and file all annual returns with the federal/provincial governments
- Ensure union contract requirements are accurate with respect to payroll
