In collaboration with the controller, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring and evaluating the accounting department. Your time will also be allocated to human resources and administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will perform the following tasks:

• Perform and assist in supervising the day-to-day operations of the accounting team;
• Enter the necessary adjusting entries at the end of each month;
• Manage the month-end closing process, including analysis of variances;
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements;
• Prepare the year-end file and collaborate with the external auditors;
• Prepare the monthly tax files (Canada & United States);
• Verification of payroll;
• Implement, apply, and maintain internal control procedures;
• Prepare any required reports for verification;
• Assist the controller with all other related tasks and special projects.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• College or university degree in accounting;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French;
• Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position;
• Independent, meticulous, resourcefulness, able to manage stress and the ability to carry out multiple files at the same time;
• Knowledge of MS Office suite, especially Excel;
• Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing software would be considered an asset.
