Job description

Reporting to the Director, Mining and Geology, this position is primarily responsible for reviewing approving, and executing all Geologic work requirements, establishing priorities, and acquiring and allocating resources required to provide appropriate service including exploration plans and budgets and general Geology budgets. Specific duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Submitting project status reports identifying projects, person(s) responsible, critical path(s) to completion, and completion deadline(s).
• Submitting proposed government correspondence for review and approval to Director, Mining and Geology and V.P. Environmental Affairs.
• Maintaining adequate outside consulting as required.
• Coordinating all correspondence to government agencies regarding geology or geology related issues.
• Coordinating annual claim/lease inventory and maintenance work tracking and insuring that geologic and holdings are kept in good standing.
• Maintaining familiarity with all Canadian quarry operating and reclamation plans.
• Maintaining familiarity with exploration techniques and permitting requirements in all Graymont jurisdictions.
• Supervising consulting geologists working in Canada.
• Conducting drilling and mapping projects, including report preparation, as required.
• Ensuring that geologic information is accurately and frequently maintained using software approved by the Director, Mining and Geology.
• Assisting with Graymont Reserve calculations.
• Organizing and maintain office geologic files and sample storage areas.
• Travel required typically seasonal but may be over 30 percent of work time.
