Salary: $49,723.32 - $54,936.63 - $57,693.63 per annum

SCOPE
Reporting to the Manager, Custodial Services, the incumbent plans, supervises, and coordinates the work of the Cleaning and contracted Grounds employees responsible for the maintenance of grounds, the snow removal, and the cleaning and recycling program at the University. The incumbent also maintains University and legislative policies pertaining to Health and Safety in the workplace and ensures that the cleaning program meets the needs of the University community.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise personnel: plan, assign, and direct work, evaluate work performance, coordinate activities, allocate personnel, assist with the selection of new employees, attend to employee issues, and recommend disciplinary action when appropriate. Monitor employee performance and provide coaching for improvement and development as needed.
Act as liaison person between external contractors and the University community.
Monitor expenditures pertaining to the unit’s budget oversee the inventories of supplies and equipment produce a variety of written reports and cost estimates.
Recommend and implement long-term and short-term programs and schedules for Cleaning and for contracted Grounds services.
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve unit’s operations and decrease turnaround time work cooperatively with other units to provide quality customer service.
Respond to complaints regarding cleaning and grounds maintenance and take appropriate action to resolve them.
Represent the Manager, Custodial Services, in specific areas as assigned.

NATURE DU POSTE
Sous la direction du chef de service – de l’Entretien, planifier, superviser et coordonner le travail du personnel de l’entretien ménager et du personnel contractuel de l’entretien paysager, du déneigement et du programme d’entretien ménager et de recyclage à l’Université. Tenir à jour les politiques de l’Université et le cadre juridique relatifs à la santé et la sécurité au travail et s’assurer que le programme d’entretien ménager réponde aux besoins de la communauté universitaire.

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS
Superviser le personnel : planifier, assigner et diriger le travail, évaluer le rendement au travail, coordonner les activités, affecter le personnel, participer à la sélection des nouveaux employés, s’occuper des problèmes touchant le personnel et recommander des mesures disciplinaires au besoin. Surveiller le rendement des employés et leur fournir l’encadrement pour assurer leur formation et leur perfectionnement, au besoin.
Assurer la liaison entre les fournisseurs externes et la communauté universitaire.
Surveiller les dépenses liées au budget du Service surveiller les inventaires de fournitures et de matériel rédiger divers rapports et estimations de prix.
Recommander et mettre en œuvre des échéanciers et programmes à court et long termes pour l’entretien ménager et les services contractuels d’entretien paysager.
Travailler constamment à améliorer le fonctionnement du Service et à réduire les délais d’exécution travailler en collaboration avec les autres unités afin de fournir un service de qualité à la clientèle.
Répondre aux plaintes concernant l’entretien ménager et l’entretien paysager et prendre les mesures appropriées pour les traiter.
Représenter le chef de service – de l’Entretien, dans des secteurs désignés, s’il y a lieu.
