IT Training & Development Consultant

Reporting to the Manager, Employee Development; the Training Consultant will work with employees and Managers within Rogers IT Services (ITS) to support employee technical training initiatives that deliver effective solutions and meet Rogers business needs. This position requires strong partnership and collaboration with the Rogers IT Management team and the Manager, Employee Development to support the overall Rogers IT Employee Development Program. The Training Consultant will take the lead in working with project teams to determine training needs and supporting the development and execution of ITS training programs. This position also supports the ITS Leadership team to analyze, plan and execute on the ITS corporate strategy.

Responsibilities Include:
* Utilizes training process & methodology (analysis, design, delivery, implementation and evaluation) and project management standards to define, plan and execute training requirements for ITS projects.
* Maintains internal partnerships with various levels of the organization, assists in assessing training needs, provides guidance to develop departments' technical training plans and executes to budget.
* Performs needs analysis for the purpose of identifying specific training requirements and identifies performance-based measures that align these requirements to the strategy.
* Liaisons with external vendors to source and negotiate pricing and partners with RCI Organizational Learning and National Sales & Service Training teams to provide on-line training solutions to employees.
* Collaborates with internal teams and the IT Training Coordinator to ensure appropriate scheduling, recording and reporting of training programs.
* Defines measures of success to evaluate vendor performance and the employee experience. Develops program assessments and conducts post-training analysis to validate the success and value of training and reports findings to training manager.
* Maintains the design and data integrity of the ITS training database, works with the National Sales & Service Training team to improve the utilization of the LMS within IT and assists in projects to enhance and upgrade these systems.
* Maintains current in professional knowledge and makes recommendations to processes, tools, vendor relationships or learning experiences that generate cost savings against the ITS training budget.

* 5+ years of training and development experience
* Post Secondary Education, preferable a university degree preferably in an education-related field (B.Ed, Adult Education or equivalent, technical writing, business writing).
* A technical background or experience in a technical field would be an asset.
* Minimum of two years experience in leadership development facilitation and/or design on instructor led, self-paced, web-based, interactive instructional content and development of training programs.
* Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Office, specifically in MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Access.
* Core Competencies: Customer Service Orientation, Teamwork and Collaboration, Adaptability and Initiative
* Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentations and public speaking). Experience writing for various learner levels.
* Role Specific Competencies: Innovation/Creative Thinking, Problem Solving/Judgment, Achievement Orientation and Listening Understanding & Responding
* Strong negotiating, meeting facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills
* Solid organizational and problem solving skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines as required.
* Some travel may be required
* Bilingual French-English an asset
