The Production Support group within Rogers ITS is responsible for providing continuous support to business critical systems. This particular team is responsible for providing 24x7 support to CSM (Customer Service Management) module within the IT billing system. Current focus is on enhancement initiatives and projects, identifying opportunities to make the business more efficient, troubleshooting issues and providing temporary solutions so that business can continue while the design and development of a permanent solution occurs.
Person hired for this position will be responsible for the following:
* Provide production application support CSM application in production.
* Provide 24*7 on-call support.
* Takes the lead in the design, development, implementation and support process
* Produces design specifications for projects of various sizes from functional requirements.
* Assists Lead/Manager in preparation of effort estimated for projects/enhancements, including high level analysis, resource requirements, and impact to other activities
* Carries out detailed analysis and design tasks for those functions and subsystems assigned by the Lead/Manager
* Participates in the implementation process, including such activities as preparation of implementation requests for hand over to Operations
* Analyzes reviews and rewrites programs to increase operating efficiency and/or adapts programs to new requirements.
* Develops and unit test all code assigned, and assist in the completion of system testing including preparing technical documentation for delivered functions.
* Provides Problem Prevention and Proactive monitoring/Solutions
* Reviews and analyzes work orders/incidents/service calls for resolutions, work around and permanent fixes
* Performs operational and maintenance tasks as required. Develop and implement changes related to emergency, bug fixes, major and minor enhancements/releases
* Provides onsite support for new releases in production.
* Get involve in Transition to Support from Project Teams Create/Modify support processes and technical documentation.
* Develops emergency and minor code fixes. Work with Development Teams during Project Warranty phase.
* Communicate effectively with various teams on status, follow-ups on major issues and resolving problems
* Provides technical expertise, guidance and training to more junior development team members, and ensure that ITD Methodology and Programming Standards are followed
* Should be able to work within the team and coordinate with multiple teams across the organization
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT development or equivalent academic experience.
* 5+ years design/development/analysis experience from large environments required, at least 2 years involving application support/ enhancement/fix
* Minimum 3+ years experience with CSM module within Amdocs billing system.
* Knowledge of PB(Power Builder) and Tuxedo is big plus.
* Strong C, Pro *C, COBOL, Shell Scripting, PL/SQL, Java/ J2EE knowledge and the ability to work with the back-end Oracle Developers
* Understanding of the key architecture considerations/issues associated with distributed client/server infrastructures
* Good knowledge of techniques and methodology of programming
* Ability to think logically
* Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation), negotiation and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment and ability to meet deadlines. Willing to learn.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated Responsibilities, Ownership and Dedication is a must.
