(Toronto, Canada) Bring your passion for modern front-end web technologies to one of Canada's leading news portals. Canoe.ca is looking for an intermediate front-end coder who:

- finds joy in building extraordinary interactive interfaces
- has 3 or more years experience with PHP, JavaScript, semantic HTML and CSS, and experience with AJAX/XML
- works efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- has good verbal and written communication skills
- lives in (or is willing to move to) the GTA and is able to commute to our downtown Toronto office

Key responsibilities include:
- a committment to excellence
- website integration and maintenance
- standards-compliant XHTML, PHP, JavaScript AJAX and CSS web development
- complying with our IT standards and best practices, or suggesting alternatives for those you disagree with
- updating documentation for modified software components
- an attention to detail in all things
- mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge with the rest of the team
