Job description
Canoe is currently looking for a Software Test Specialist for Toronto.
The Software Test Specialist will ensure that the software is bug-free and has been developed in accordance with the functional specifications.
He/she will work closely with the systems analysts to run the test scenarios based on functional and technical analyses, will create and run automated regression tests, primarily using QTP and Quality Center, will analyze test results and provide results feedback and recommendations to the development team. He/she will plan his/her work at the beginning of projects using a test plan, create and update cases (manual and automated).
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Intermediate Software Test Specialist will be responsible for:
1. Planning and estimating the workload
2. Creating and executing manual and automated test cases
3. Creating and running test scripts (QTP and Quality Centre)
4. Reviewing application changes to assess an impact on existing testing scripts
5.Producing test reports
REQUIREMENTS
•Required: Technical college diploma or technical training from a recognized institution
•Required: General knowledge of web development technologies
•Desired: Ability to meet commitments and deadlines
•Desired: Independent, thorough, team player
Other Requirements:
- Strong asset: Bilingual (English & French, written & spoken)
Strong asset: Software programming experience (HTML, XML, JavaScript, VB Script)
