One of our major government clients is looking for a Sr. Technical Architect (IBM hardware, Health Care, Azure and AWS exp)
Length: 11 months contract with a huge possibility of extension
Location: Hybrid- Edmonton, AB
Hours of work: 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time.

SCOPE:
A technical architect to assist the Information Technology and Operations branch in the successful implementation of technologies that will support critical business objectives. The resource will be available for supporting Application Modernization initiatives developing new applications and transforming applications for deployment in an Openshift Containerization Platform. The candidate will also be responsible for the design and delivery of cloud infrastructure on multiple cloud platforms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is required to fill a Technical Architecture role working with modern architectures and design practices. These skillsets currently do not exist in the Ministry. The resource will have a strong background experience with Health Care and Health Care Agencies. The resource will have experience delivering health related projects provisioned on modern Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, IBM).
The individual will have experience designing applications and designing cloud infrastructure to be deployed using the Health standard of RedHat Openshift on both private and public cloud.
The individual will be work with external vendors on behalf of the Ministry to ensure secure, reliable and continuously available applications and infrastructure are deployed in support of multiple projects.
Experience in Hybrid cloud would be an asset.
Experience in IBM hardware and software is required based on the Ministry of Health’s current software stack.

Mandatory Training Courses:
• Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Health Information Act and Security awareness training. There may also be some optional courses as well.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related field of study.
• Must have Active Certification in Azure Fundamentals and AWS, and/or GCP (optional).
• The ability to learn quickly, problem solve/troubleshoot, work independently and in a team.
• Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures.
• Experience in IT infrastructure architecture and the relationships among the components that make up an IT service from end-user devices to servers, networks, storage, applications and data.
• Experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience supporting and collaborating directly with stakeholders, external (public users) and internal business areas. Ability to co-ordinate and communicate necessary information well to all clients.
• Experience working in IT within the Healthcare industry


NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
• Designing and deploying Health Care applications using containers
• Experience in designing and deploying Hybrid cloud applications using Red Hat Openshift
• Experience in IBM hardware and software based on the Ministry of Health’s current hardware and software.
• Experience with Data Fabric and Data Mesh architectures
• Experience with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)
• Experience working for or with Health Services
• Experience working in a team environment - with staff, contractors and vendor teams.
• Senior leadership experience working in the public sector (ideally Canada) with a sound knowledge of its stakeholders, business functions and informational requirements.
• Experience working on projects with changing priorities, timelines, or requirements.
