    Major Responsibilities

    The Sr. Manager – Customer Facing Solutions Architecture will be accountable for driving all technical efforts to solve system challenges in the stores, by delivering robust, secure solutions which will enable store associates and help accommodate the company’s vision and strategy. You are a critical component to IT’s relentless pursuit to deliver forward thinking and innovative solutions across all HBC banners (Hudson’s Bay, Saks 5th Avenue, Saks Off 5th and Lord & Taylor).

    Role responsibilities include:

    Own and be the gatekeeper of all store applications (POS, mobile, payment architecture)
    Oversee and continue to expand a team of technical managers, developers and analysts
    Work closely with existing external partners to understand their technical roadmaps, hold these partners accountable for ongoing delivery.
    Assess existing store systems, create tactical and strategic roadmaps for HBC’s customer facing systems - make it a priority to understand future-state solutions in mobile and payment.

    Professional Qualifications

    Experience in a technical retail environment
    You love technology and are comfortable diving into technical details
    Strong strategic thinking skills; ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and to make sound, logical decisions.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to operate in a fast past dynamic organization where change is a constant
    Well-developed written and presentation skills.
    Experience – level or related/unrelated work experience, number of years in prior jobs-Experience with payment systems (EMV, payment middleware, encryption).
    You are comfortable with hardware (devices) and the engineering space (e.g. OS, networks, device management, active directory etc.)
    You understand the software delivery lifecycle.
    You lead by example to create a mindset of best-in-class.
    You have experience managing technical vendors.

    Educational Credentials

    Bachelor’s degree with a technical discipline, or a combination of strong experience and education.
