Kelly Services is currently recruiting for a Statistical Analyst for a one year assignment in the Food Production Industry located in Don Mills, ON!
The Product Supply Team currently has an opportunity for a Statistical Analyst (contract) to be located at the Don Mills head office in Toronto, Ontario. Under the direction of Process Effectiveness, Product Supply CS&L, the Analyst will work closely with the Demand Planning team and will be responsible for statistical forecast model investigation and consultation to maximize effectiveness of demand forecasting tools through optimizing algorithms and mathematical solutions. This role will be responsible for evaluation of SKU level results and optimization of system generated forecast activity. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting and participating in Lean Six Sigma (L6S) project based activity with focus on Sales Forecast Accuracy (SFA) and Advance Demand Forecasting (ADF) interfaces. This opportunity extends for a duration of one year from the hiring date or until such time otherwise determined by project leads. This role will be integral to SFA improvement initiatives and will be accountable for specific Key Performance metric improvements related to various forecast horizons and processes. Daily activity will involve integration of variables generated by customer & brand portfolio level forecast data management, model exceptions process review to monitor and evaluate trend and best fit algorithm generation to optimize forecast results. Under advisement of Demand Planning, they will share joint ownership of developing the unconstrained sales projections providing the National Production Planners the foundation of a successful supply replenishment plan and maximum value to the organization.
Responsibilities:
Analytics & demand forecasting deliverables:
•Understand the project and demand forecasting role within the organization in delivering against key metrics. This includes statistical forecasting, managing customer projections, replenishment strategy, Lean Six methodology, demand and consensus process
•Specific to the SFA project and related demand forecasting expectations this will include direct linkage to forecast quality attainment and coordination of product stat modeling as part of the CI team initiatives
•Direct point of contact for project data and other information collection
•Understanding of ADF management system & tools, orchestration of use, interface design and input to control process for accurate processing ability
•Work collaboratively with other team members and direct position customers to ensure forecasting requirements are met
•Meet key measures: generation of an item, location forecast in weekly increments depicting an unconstrained demand estimate of our customer’s expectations on order activity.
•To work with the L6S Team to identify gaps in statistical projections, scorecard the forecast accuracy and report results
•Develop decision support tools and models to analyze the forecast activity and accuracy.
•Conduct day-to-day business analysis supporting Demand PlanningQualifications:
•University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain & Logistics, Arts or Science with math major
•Preferred APICS or IBF certification
•Experience in Applied Statistical Forecasting is an asset
•Experience with project teams and general business acumen
•Solid communication and presentation skills
•Advanced computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint
•Solid mathematical and statistical knowledge, with a preference for having applied experience in problem solving/projects in a professional environment
•Time management & organization skills

•Strong technical skills, advanced Excel knowledge
