    Major Responsibilities


    The Business Analyst, as part of the Application Development team, engages Business Stakeholders & IT to plan, elicit, analyze, document and validate system requirements that meet business needs. Working on all sizes of development projects and programs, the Business Analyst assesses solution options and validates the overall quality of deliverables. The Business Analyst leverages an analytical approach and techniques to understand business problems/requirements and proposes a recommended solution.

    Role responsibilities include:

    Act as the liaison between development resources and business clients
    Analyze business and user needs, gather business requirements, using a structured process, and document functional requirements
    Work with developers to define system scope and objectives based on both user needs and good understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards
    Balance user community needs/requirements with project schedule and IT resources available to determine system design
    Devise or modify procedures to solve problems and recommend enhancements to business processes to support changing business requirements
    Perform application system analysis, prepare data/process flow diagrams and design screen/report layouts as part of business systems solution/application design
    Develop and/or assist the project team in developing a clearly defined and agreed upon project functional and non-functional requirements document and develop systems context with Integration Analysts/Technical Developers
    Assist project team in presenting an application/solution context to IT and business teams, including Third Parties
    Assist users in developing conversion and implementation procedures
    Develop and execute test plans for system and user acceptance testing
    Thoroughly test and manage product quality to ensure proper operation and freedom of defects
    Document all problems and work to resolve them, reporting progress on problem resolution to management
    Administer and participate in system integration testing and support user acceptance testing
    Time management when involved in multiple projects of complex nature
    Prioritization of work assignments
    Gather businesss requirements
    Document functional requirements
    System / Integration / E2E testing
    On time delivery of high quality comprehensive requirements documents

    Professional Qualifications
    Abiltity to develop functional requirements and documentation
    Understanding of SDLC methodology
    Full lifecycle implementation experience
    Minimum of 3+ years of experience as Business Analyst
    Previous Retail experience
    Strong Stock Ledger, Financial ERP, EDW background
    Proficient with MS Office tools including Visio, PowerPoint
    Basic knowledge of SQL
    Knowledge of Test Management Tools (e.g. ALM)
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express complex technical concepts
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills and the ability to take an innovative approach to business problems
    Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork, sharing knowledge and expertise as it relates to the role
    Ability to take ownership of assigned work
    Able to establish relationships with internal and external partners
    Able to lead meetings
    Strong organizational skills
    Time management skills
    Sound ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
    Comfortable to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines

    Educational Credentials


    Post-secondary education in Information Technology or related field


    CCBA, CBAP certification preferred
