RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent participates in planning, organizing and carrying out work related to pension plan administration for our clients, ensuring their respective needs are met. The incumbent plays a key role in managing client relations and supervises the actuarial staff.
-Prepare actuarial valuations for funding and accounting purposes for pension plans and post-employment benefit plans
-Perform studies on pension plan structure for new and long-standing clients
-Maintains excellent relationships with client representatives, internal consultants and plan administrators with respect to plan provisions and members’ entitlements
-Supervise work performed by the pension team, namely individual benefit calculations, member data updates and production of annual benefit statements and calculations of PAs, PARs and pension indexation, etc.
-Attend meetings, prepare reports, presentations and pension plan documentation for current and potential clients.
REQUIREMENTS
-University degree in actuarial science or mathematics
-FCIA designation or in the process of obtaining one
-Ideally 5 to 7 years of experience in pension plans
-Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the actuarial valuation process
-Extensive knowledge of tax and pension legislation
-Enthusiasm, team spirit and ability to work without supervision
-Strong leadership and good employee supervision skills
-Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
-Excellent command of MS Office
-Bilingualism would be considered an asset

Requirements
Bachelor degree, actuarial science or mathematics
5 to 7 years of experience in pension plans
FCIA designation or in process
