Caterpillar of Canada's facility in Laval, Quebec, is a leading provider of machine guidance and asset management solutions for the open pit mining industry. Caterpillar of Canada uses GPS, production monitoring, wireless networks and embedded computers to perform real-time optimization of mining machinery fleets. We are looking for a software team leader who will provide technical and project leadership, mentoring and direction to a small group of software engineers engaged in embedded software development activities.
The primary job duties of the softare team leader is manage on a day to day basis the resources to projects as well as maintain an environment in which the organization under the incumbent leadership can accomplish work effectively and efficiently; define and manage software development schedule as well as communicate work progress in relation to plan; coach and facilitate the work group to develop collaborative relationships inside and outside the team; create and maintain an organizational climate/culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement/commitment and a sense of urgency toward business success; involve and integrate key stakeholders to insure project success; communicate bisuness strategies, goals and project of the the direction and increase understanding of product technology and process and the customers’ business and needs.
Other requierements and conditions of employement:
-Available to travel about 15%;
-Conference call on opposite time zone (India, Australia)
-Experience with QNX Real Time Operating System
-Experience with control/automation systems development (an asset);
-Experience with Agile development methodologies (an asset);
-Experience with UML system design & modeling with IBM Rhapsody (an asset);
Requirements
- Essential - Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent
- Essential - Bilingual
- Important - 10years of experience with 5years in a team leader
- Essential - developing managed code using Visual Studio, QNX
- Important - GPS positioning, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SSL
