Senior System Developer - Application support
DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the team leader, the candidate we are seeking will act as a System Developer in the application support team.
Supported applications where developed on a wide variety of architecture ranging from client server to tree tier web type applications on numerous technologies. The candidate should be familiar with the WEB technical competencies described below and should also be open to learning other technologies.
* Participate in all support related activities, from the analysis of the situation causing the issue up to the implementation of the solution.
* Implement all technological upgrade type changes or legal changes of the systems supported by the team.
* Occasionally supports applications outside of regular business hours, which could require wearing a pager.
* Work with other members of the team to learn about each application, understand what problems they may face and resolve them.
REQUIREMENTS
* University degree in Computer Science with a minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant IT environment or collegial diploma with a minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
* Very good knowledge of the language PL/SQL, ProC
* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Linux.
* Knowledge of Panther and Crystal Report languages is an asset.
* Knowledge of Java, is an asset.
* Basic knowledge of Application Development Life Cycle.
* Basic knowledge of different technological environments.
* Basic knowledge of the finance or insurance industry is an asset.
* Must take initiative and have the sense of urgency, able to work under pressure and under time constraints.
* Must have the ability to adapt to new technological changes.
* Bilingual, French and English, written and spoken.
