Senior Specialist, SharePoint Development
DESCRIPTION
To be successful in this role, the incumbent must be responsible for the maintenance and evolution of SharePoint platform. Sees to the planning and implementation of new installations and/or updates of said environments. Provides leadership and superior knowledge to colleagues and co-workers. Controls, analyses and provides recommendations regarding the optimization of the performance of the environments under their responsibility. Actively participate in the resolution of problems and anomalies that occur within these.
* Evaluates reviews and provides recommendations with regards to plans and activities brought to their attention.
* Identifies, documents and automates certain activities in order to improve processes and ensure the better performance of environments under their responsibility.
* Takes ownership and responsibility for third-level support (analysis and resolution) when major failures occur. Resolves problems and implements permanent solutions.
* Conducts trend analysis of server performance and provides recommendations.
* Updates the system documentation and operating diagrams for the environments under their responsibility.
* Provides members of the department with their superior knowledge and expertise.
* Is ultimately accountable and responsible for the escalation process when solving system problems with either internal or external parties.
REQUIREMENTS
* University degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 8 years of experience with relevant technologies.
* Hands-on development expertise using Microsoft SharePoint (SharePoint 2007 & 2010)
* Proven expertise analyzing and developing web applications and solutions that leverage MS SharePoint suite of collaborative tools and MS.NET technologies
* Experience migrating SharePoint applications from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010
* Expertise with MS .NET Framework, current to 3.5
* Demonstrated experience working with (developing within) a pure Microsoft development environment that includes Windows Server, MS SQL Server, MS-IIS, Visual Studio 2010, C# and SharePoint 2010
* Expertise with FAST Search Server (installation and configuration)
* Experience profile should include also: PowersShell scripting, Team Foundation Server 2010, SharePoint Designer, graphic (CSS, etc) , XML/XLST
* Knowledge of different SharePoint taxonomy.
* Fine tuning SharePoint architecture for performance.
* Second level diagnostic: (determine problem patterns).
* Third level diagnostic: (explaining problems and present short term and long term solutions).
* Defining and implementing Integration processes (rules and protocols).
* Automating administrative tasks & Application qualification.
* Establishing use and performance metrics for publishing.
* Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
