CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Reporting directly to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer has ultimate P&L responsibility for operations;
Lead a senior management team made up of: Sales Marketing, Finance, Operations, Procurement and Logistics and Human Resources;
Revitalize operations and drive organizational and cultural transformation for the business;
Work closely with owners on longer term strategies for growth with heavy focus on execution.
Drive and execute overall business strategy by providing leadership and direction in all aspects of business operations;
Drive growth and new relationships in all retail channels across geographies;
Provide leadership over the development of strong business processes, systems and disciplines, in order to understand and better manage profitability and margin;
Introduce cultural and organizational transformation initiatives to include: performance based management, upgrading and developing management talent at all levels and in all functional areas;
Be the face of the business in the market, visible and known to major customers;
Evaluate, train, recruit and manage a high performance team; create leadership bench strength for the future.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 20 years of executive management experience;
P&L business leadership experience within both best in class and entrepreneurial relevant consumer facing environments (i.e., consumer packaged goods, durables, consumables);
Relationships within the home improvement channel;
Demonstrated track record of driving changes in culture, strategy and process to enable the achievement of superior results through a cross-functional team;
Experience delivering profitable growth through retail channels in Canada and the United States;
Experience working with a financial owner, private equity experience is a must and successful transaction experience is strongly preferred;
A background that shows functional breadth, having worked in more than one functional area; preference for marketing, sales and merchandising;
Demonstrated skills in building process, systems and disciplines required for fact-based and market-driven decisions making and strong business judgement;
Has a collaborative working style while at the same time is able to instill a sense of urgency for positive change in others;
Has a business degree or other relevant degree is required, with MBA preferred.
Wages & Benefits
Salary: CAD $300,000 to $475,000 base plus bonus and equity.
Vacation: 4 weeks
Benefits: Group health insurance, Stock options, Rental car, Relocation arrangement and Indemnity for tax implications, if required.
