RBC’s unique student program allows you to work full-time during your summer breaks, part-time during school, and once you’ve graduated, you are guaranteed a full-time position.
Here’s how it works: Start date – May 2016, 9 week training program commencesSummer 2016 - complete training and work full time hours as a Sales and Service Rep until fall semester beginsSchool year 2016/2017– Guaranteed 15 hours/weekSummer 2017 or 2018 – Full time job when you graduate
As a Sales and Service Representative, you are the voice of RBC.
You have a knack for relating to the person you can’t see, listening carefully to the voice on the phone to offer the right advice and solutions. Always calm under pressure, helpful, and friendly, you use your critical thinking and active listening skills to handle up to 80 RBC client inquiries in a single day. To earn our clients’ trust and meet their needs, you complete transactions, solve problems and spot sales opportunities. This is an important role providing advice to clients throughout Canada and finding solutions that meet their individual needs.
A typical day as a Sales and Service Representative can look like this:Meet with your team leader and teammates to discuss business updatesComplete everyday banking transactions including balance inquiries, bill payments, and transfersProactively offer advice, asking great questions to offer clients solutions to meet their needs and connect them with the right product or serviceAct as a referral gateway for our branch partners and specialists for investments, credit, and business needsWork through personal goals during a weekly coaching session with your team leaderWork on personal development through RBC tools and resources
What you’ll need to succeed:Genuine customer service skills and a great telephone mannerBilingual (French and English fluent)IT literacy with strong information seeking skillsInquisitive and quick to learnComfort in a target-driven environment, with a knack for spotting opportunitiesSuperior communication skills backed by emotional intelligenceSelf-motivation, an eagerness to learn and succeed and comfort working in a team environmentPersonal flexibility to work a variety of shiftsSales experience (ideal but not essential)
