MANAGER SAFETY AND TRAINING
The objective of our client is to become the supplier of materials and choice of services responding to every need by offering a wide variety of high quality materials and production services for precision processing. To this end, the safety manager and training will play a leadership role, an educator, a resource and partner in the quest for excellence, as in factory offices, drawing on concepts of problem solving focused on continuous improvement. Moreover, it must be able to understand and communicate the situations and the underlying data which affect the quality of security operations and training. Finally, the manager must know the improvement tools necessary to support the culture that our client wishes to establish in the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Security management:
Implement and coordinate the security program of the branch and evaluate processes and work procedures to guide the team performance toward the achievement of service objectives and organization.
Conduct training sessions for operations personnel and office practices and security processes, new initiatives and accident prevention.
Implement and manage projects based on safety behavior. Play a key role in changing attitudes and promoting an organizational culture of safety.
Promote two-way communication between management and employees and use other means of communication to disseminate information on safety performance, incidents and other related topics.
Perform internal audits on the processes, facilities and equipment, to detect non-compliance, hazardous conditions and unsafe behaviors.
Manage opportunities for improvement and elimination of non-compliance by the implementation of corrective measures.
Act as mentor to the management of operations in respect to safety processes.
Investigate incidents or accidents and help eliminate the root cause of problems.
Conduct risk assessments including hazard identification and development of corrective action plans.
Organize meetings of the Security Committee.
Training Management:
Oversee all operational training and ensure compliance with requirements.
Provide leadership, coaching and the formal and informal training to support ongoing projects.
Identify training needs and development within an organization.
Prepare a training plan on a monthly, quarterly and annually.
Partner with operations managers to define specific training needs and work with the CEO of the training to develop the required training.
Supervise the work of trainers.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor degree;
Proven leadership skills and facilitation of classroom;
Solid presentation skills and good ability to speak in public;
Good communication skills verbal and written interpersonal skills in English and French;
Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (federal and provincial) and apply them to the workplace;
Ability to detect unsafe behavior and unsafe conditions in the workplace according to regulatory requirements and best practices in security;
Understanding of basic principles of ergonomics and ability to conduct an ergonomic assessment and make necessary improvements;
Knowledge of security concepts based on the behavior and ability to solicit the participation of officers and employees to correct undesirable behavior;
Skills required to perform root cause analysis and to develop appropriate corrective actions and oversee its implementation;
Team Building - Capacity to attract the participation of teams of employees and management;
Knowledge and experience to provide effective training on all topics related to security;
Ability to travel occasionally;
Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project and Vision).
Strengths:
Bachelor in a field related to security and three years experience in security management;
Formal training on regulatory requirements (OSHA, CSST, etc.).
Experience in management training requirements in an organizational environment.

Sense of priorities - understanding of the key tasks and ability to carry them out;
