Buffalo David Bitton, a major Montreal-based private company, is currently seeking new talent to join his team! We are currently looking for a Human Resources Counselor:
Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Human Resources Counselor will help with all aspects of the human resources functions including: staffing, allocation, development, employee and labor relations, consulting services, management of policies and procedures, regulations and relevant legislations.
•Inspiration, recruitment, retention and effectively on boarding new employees in order to achieve divisional goals.
•Internal and field leadership incentive programs to drive results and employee satisfaction. Stimulate proactive, best practice sales techniques to encourage and reward for improvement.
•Advising and assisting various field leaders and retail home office team to interpret and administer policies and employee programs.
•Constantly review competitor operations, training and management policies/practices, research and recommend actions and responses to industry/market changes.
•Support and integrate the talents of the retail field leadership team with home office to create a successful synergy, maximizing each group’s contribution to the process.
•Provide Best Practice advice to management with respect to HR programs, systems, methodologies to improve human resource management and employee relations.
•In partnership with Store Operations, oversee all aspects of new store openings including store management, associates, recruitment, training, and on boarding.
•Ensure all employee records, performance evaluations, corrective action plans and other documents are up-to-date and handled in compliance with company requirements.
•Advise provincial policies, regulations and relevant legislation.
•With guidance, review and manage salary scales, compensation programs, performance evaluation programs and the pay equity program.
•Analyze, maintain records and report on human resource statistics.
Skills and Experiences:
•Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related industries
•3 years of practical experience in human resources field
•Very good knowledge of all human resources functions, including talent development, performance management, policy development, compensation and recruitment strategy, coupled with ability to effectively use the schools, agencies and social networks
•Excellent communication and leadership skills and ability to solidly and effectively link field leadership team to the home office organization
•Very good knowledge of provincial labor laws
•Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French
•Excellent project management skills
