The incumbent is accountable for the day to day planning, directing and coordination of the Operations / Distribution activities for the evening team in Dorval. With effective team management, the Supervisor will ensure that the team reaches all internal targets including quality standards, productivity levels, and customer satisfaction.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include: training employees; planning / scheduling, assigning, and directing work; completing performance appraisals; providing recognition and performance feedback; applying disciplinary measures when necessary; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Works closely with departmental management team.
Monitors the labour budget and advises his/her reporting manager of changes in procedures or conditions that may affect operating costs.
Maintains open communication with employees and conducts regular team meetings.
Monitors and anticipates staffing requirements.
Facilitates employee training (job related tasks, certifications and SOPs) and makes sure that employees are prepared for their roles.
Monitors individual performance to ensure all employees perform according to the acceptable standards for production, quality and attendance.
Verifies that health and safety rules are followed at all times. Implements health and safety initiatives.
Manages and analyses KPIs in order to increase team’s efficiency.
Know How and Experience
Minimal requirement of college / CEGEP diploma completed. Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline is preferred.
Five years experience in a supervisory role in a distribution center (team of 20 employees or more).
Bilingual (English and French).
Results driven, thrives in a fast-paced always changing environment and works well under pressure.
Solid human relations and communication skills.
Must have a global view of business operations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to promote team work.
PC and systems knowledge (Office suite, AIMS (or another WMS) and JDE).
