    Reporting to the Manager, Automation, the Inkjet Technician is responsible to perform skilled duties in the troubleshooting and repair of inkjet equipment and associated control systems. The incumbent will assist Production Operators in functions as requested by the Manager, Automation. This is a new position and a great opportunity for someone passionate about being part of a new project.

    Responsibilities:

    •Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on all inkjet equipment in the MEGA - Mattel facility. Reduce upcoming make-ready time by identifying what changes could be made to a standard make ready procedure;
    •Ensure all proper printing equipment is ready for machine and verify machine is ready for production. Inspect all inkjet fluids on all equipment, and accurately inventory stock on all printers;
    •Identify flawed equipment and notify Supervisor for vendor support and/or repairs to reduce downtime. Inspect all Inkjet Engineering Printing Solution (EPS) and Mimaki controllers for functionality or any anomalies;
    •Produce and supply all Inkjet decoration for production or Sample for MEGA - Mattel departments;
    •Effective time management to assist in training operators;
    •Maintain work area in an organized and clean manner, complying with Mattel safety, environmental, and housekeeping requirements. Report any machine or equipment deficiencies or safety concerns to Supervisor or maintenance manager;
    •Must follow and or help to write and maintain the company Standard Operating Procedure (SOP);
    •Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:
    •Technical Degree;
    •2+ years in press maintenance environment;
    •2+ years Inkjet experience in a print production facility;
    •Six Sigma Green Belt Certified;
    •Very good understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as MS Office;
    •Good mechanic and electric skills;
    •Must be able to meet stringent deadlines, be well organized, able to respond quickly to changing situations;
    •Quality conscious and customer oriented, and be able to identify and meet internal customers’ needs and requirements;
    •Must have the ability to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects;
    •Ability to maintain productive relationship with co-workers, working in multi-disciplinary teams and interfacing with all levels of employees;
    •Ability to read, write and comprehend written instructions and basic arithmetic functions;
    •Must be bilingual (French and English).
