  • Position Summary:

    The financial analyst’s role involves financial as well as management accounting and reporting, profitability/cost/budget analysis and internal control process responsibilities.
    This is a Montreal-based position.

    Reports To:

    Director of Finance


    Specific Responsibilities:

    Prepare various reports and participate in monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting of subsidiaries and consolidated entity. Prepare license partner reporting packages and financial reporting items such as consolidation of subsidiaries, stock based compensation, financial instruments etc.

    Assisting in the preparation of external financial statements per IFRS, related notes and management discussion and analysis on a quarterly basis including preparing, analyzing and interpreting financial reports required for management decision-making

    Analyze costing and profitability trends and variances including close liaison with other departments (Sales, Marketing, R&D, Logistics) as well as auditors and outsourcing parties as well as assist in yearly budget preparation and maintenance, latest best estimate budget updates, monitoring of monthly expenses and responsible for analyzing and presenting variances from budget

    Participate in preparing investor relation reports, compliance reports, statutory audit packages and liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders

    Contribute in guiding the company’s accounting function and ensuring the integrity and consistency of accounting records. This includes liaising with general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost analysis, cash management and budgetary controls

    Design, implement and oversee internal controls and Bill 198 compliance, improving processes/ workflow that enhance productivity and reduce costs, recommending new methods, policies or regulations as required

    Perform other related financial projects assigned by the Director of Finance

    Candidate Profile

    Required
    Education: CGA,CMA,CA

    Experience: Minimum 4 years of work experience
    (open to a CA coming from an accounting firm)
    Previous work experience as a Financial Analyst

    Other: Strong technical as well as computer skills, good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    Bilingual
    Knowledge of SAP/R3 accounting software

    Compensation:

    Base: Competitive Salary & Bonus plan
