  • Responsibilities:

    • Work with hockey product team to identify and prioritize specific products for performance testing and set performance objectives for those products
    • Establish and execute test protocols to measure desired performance attributes of each product
    • Design and produce custom test benches, whether to be sent for external build or to be built internally
    • Create a calendar/work plan to address these test needs in conjunction with management and respective product teams
    • Compile test data and report this information to the hockey team in a clear and concise manner for further analysis
    • Perform benchmark testing on raw materials following internal standards and maintain up to date materials library
    • Work with hockey team to identify areas of improvement relating to product performance
    • Perform routine maintenance, calibration and updates where applicable for all testing equipment
    • Maintain current and in depth knowledge of industry testing standards (CSA, ASTM, ISO, etc.)

    Qualifications:

    • University or College degree in a related field (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology or similar)
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical testing field (experience in the helmet industry an asset)
    • Experience using CAD software (Solidworks an asset)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project)
    • Basic machining knowledge (hand tools, drill press, etc.)
    • Detail oriented in all forms of communication
    • Team player, strong written and verbal communications
    • Self-starter, takes direction well
    • Provides appropriate and meaningful feedback on all assignments

    The following qualifications will be viewed as an asset:

    • Experience developing and executing test protocols
    • Experience in data collection, formatting and preparation
    • Experience and/or knowledge of CSA, ASTM and ISO procedures relating to Sporting Goods equipment
    • Experience and/or knowledge of CADEX impact testing equipment
    • Experience and/or knowledge of tooling, building specialized test equipment and repairing/maintaining such equipment
