  • DG Montreal is currently looking for a Civil Engineering Technician to join a great company located downtown Montreal. You will assist the project engineers in its project design tasks (geometry, drainage works for highways, roads, railways; public services).

    Tasks and responsibilities

    -Study of traffic scenarios using software like Auto TURN;
    -Provide technical and administrative support to engineers including research and compilation of data necessary for the project, collecting the preliminary project information and make requests to info-excavation;
    -Visit the sites to collect other relevant information (Occasionally);
    -Participate in the preparation of specifications and tender documents, estimate quantities (take-offs), such as volume of material, length ... and assist in the preparation of costs estimates and pricings;
    -Performs CAD layout and detail drawings for construction of linear infrastructure for MTQ, municipalities and private customer;
    -Volume Calculation of cuts and fills from survey records;
    -Preparation, implementation and management of the drawings library;
    -Continue implementation of the CivilCAD 3D software and preparation of templates;


    Skills and Qualifications

    -DEC in Civil Engineering or equivalent;
    - 5 years’ experience in design and CAD plans with in transportation engineering consulting (highway, road, rail);
    -Master AutoCAD software v. 2014;
    -Have a good understanding and use of mathematical tools required to achieve scale plans;
    -Very good French and English both oral and written.

    Assets

    -Master Civil 3D CAD v.2015;
    -Good knowledge of standards and procedures of the Ministry of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transportation Electrification (MTMDET) and the City of Montreal;
    -Experience on railways projects of CN, CP, LRT or other
    -GIS data processing;
    -Safety courses on construction sites (ASP).
