    Role and Responsibilities:
    * Performs software testing of software applications and other types of applications based on defined requirements
    * Applies QA and Testing processes and best practices to projects. Also provides coaching/mentoring on best practices
    * Devises automation and QA strategies/plans appropriate for the given development methodology
    * Ensures all levels of testing are performed with the right approach and adequate coverage
    * Participates in backlog grooming sessions with the team to validate the requirements
    * Assists the team is refining user stories and determining acceptance criteria
    * Analyzes requirements and creates/updates test cases
    * Performs front-end and back-end analysis of applications
    * Uses various tools to facilitate testing
    * Develops and modifies automated test scripts
    * Uses SQL queries skills to perform complex data verification.
    * Creates test data as required for testing
    * Performs test case and test script peer reviews
    * Logs defects, anomalies and issues into defect tracking systems and reviews them with project team members to assist with resolution
    * Proposes and implements solutions to quality-related process issues within the context of assigned projects
    * Reports test results and status to the team Job Complexity

    Technical Skills:
    o Experience with various test case management and defect management tools (Jira, TFS, Quality Center, ClearQuest etc.)
    o Experience with various test automation tools (QTP, Selenium, SoapUI, etc)
    o Web service/API testing
    o BDD framework (Jbehave, Cucumber, SpecFlow, etc)
    o Junior-level programming skills (preferably Java or Java-related)
    o Experience with data-driven and keyword-driven testing.
    o Platforms: Windows
    o Browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari
    o HTML, Json , XML

    QA & Testing Skills:
    o Testing Methods
    Testing Methods: Automated testing, White-box testing, Functional Testing, Black Box Testing, Exploratory Testing
    o Testing Types
    Web Services/API testing , System Integration Testing , System Testing, Regression Testing, Browser Compatibility Testing, User Acceptance Testing

    * Minimum of 7 years of QA experience or 5 years of QA/ Test engineering experience
    * Bachelor's degree /4-year college degree in Computer Science or engineering-related fields or relevant work experience
    * Minimum of 1 year of team leading experience


    Candidate must understand business processes, be a detailed-oriented person and quickly grasp new concepts. Additionally the candidate will have strong presentation, interpersonal, software development and work management skills
    Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
    Must hold a valid Visa for travel to the USA or a valid Passport
