    Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) is responsible for delivering essential technology infrastructure solutions to Morgan Stanley’s businesses. EI manages the production, operations, and engineering of our data centers, voice and data networking solutions, mainframe servers and databases, distributed computing, wireless technologies, and associated end user capabilities.

    Position Description:

    The Morgan Stanley Lab Services (MSLS) team perform rapid, safe, evaluation of technology. The team is responsible for the strategy, standards and operations of Morgan Stanley's technology labs globally. With over 10,000 square feet of lab space and over 2,000 physical assets, MSLS provides critical services for all phases of the technology lifecycle, from initial research through to production problem post-mortems and investigations. This work also covers all of our lines of business, from low latency trading to enterprise data center applications, and through to new mobile applications

    We are looking for a Systems Administrator with experience in networking, virtualization and automation to join the MSLS team. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the automation and self-service, security and network segregation of our lab environments, looking at new technology and help on building out proof-of-concept integrations, working with global engineering teams. The role will also involve managing the local innovation lab and helping to drive local engagement in technology innovation.

    The work would involve working across a broad range of technologies, a willingness to dive into unfamiliar technologies rather than any specific niche.

    Technologies will span hardware, software, proprietary as well as open-source. Furthermore, the role requires independence, primarily working with groups in remote offices.


    Skills Required:

    - Network admistration/architecture with building out virtual network environments
    - Experience with KVM, ESX or other virtualization management infrastructure.
    - 3-5 years of experience in system administration practices, primarily Red Hat Linux.
    - Writing maintainable scripts with Perl and/or Python.
    - Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision despite rapidly changing priorities

    Skills Desired:

    - Performance-tuning experience across networks, filesystems and applications.
    - Knowledge, awareness and contributor to open source projects.
    - Experience with network security practices.
