Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the Institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. Our clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research and Global Capital Markets as well as Operations, HR and Corporate Services.
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Java developer to join our development team in Montreal to work on a suite of applications in the Internal Trade Reporting & Business Intelligence space. The position involves working closely with end-users in Operations, Risk & Compliance to architect and implement the next generation of systems to allow our clients the ability to browse Trade related activity. The candidate would be responsible for all aspects of software development including analysis, design, implementation, testing. The environment is high energy and fast paced with short time-to-delivery of projects and requires quick thinking under pressure when troubleshooting and resolving production problems.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of programming experience with Java and Web development, be comfortable with 3 tier architecture systems, be capable and happy to employ a broad array of technical skills, have excellent communication skills and an eagerness to learn and grow both technical and Equity & Fixed Income business knowledge.
- At least 5 years of overall development experience in Java, OOP, and Spring MVC
- Exposure to HTML5, AngularJS framework, XML/JSON/Restful services
- Communication: able to express ideas clearly and concisely
- Prior experience on financial systems
- Experience with SQL on Sybase/DB2 will be a plus
- Experience working with global teams
- Exposure to Equity and FID data domain
