Prime Brokerage, Funding and Finance Technology (PBFFT) provides solutions for Morgan Stanley's prime brokerage business, derivatives clearing, funding and liquidity management, fund services, and international wealth management. Finance technology provides solutions for regulatory and financial reporting, global product control, tax filing and resource management.
This role is for a JAVA developer who is focused on the development of new functionality as well as enhancements. This role requires strong technological and analytical skills. The work provides the opportunity to interact with personnel from multiple areas. In addition to the core development work, they would also interact and monitor the support team to understand if there are steps that the development team can take to improve the application. The technology stack is mainly distributed with JAVA, and a DB2 backend.
- Java Server Side development (3-7+ years)
- Multi-threaded programming
- Spring Framework
- CXF service development
- Messaging (MQ preferred)
- Strong database skills (DB2 preferred)
- Strong Linux/Unix skills
- Working knowledge of scripting language PERL/Shell scripting
- XML data representation
- Familiarity with Build integration using Ant, Ivy, Electric commander
- Familiarity use of perforce for version control
- Strong debugging, trouble shooting and performance tuning skills
- Ability to work as part of a fast-paced global team and deliver to aggressive timescales
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Familiarity with SAP integration is a plus
