Operations and Compliance Technology (OCT) is an innovation-driven organization comprised of functionally aligned development teams who support critical firm functions such as Legal, Compliance and Operations. OCT develops strategic solutions that support key business processes, including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Anti-Money Laundering and Trade Surveillance. OCT manage key relationships within the Institutional Securities Group, MS Wealth Management, Enterprise Operational Risk & Control (EORC), Risk, Internal Audit, Operations and Compliance.
The Cross-Product Platforms application development team is an energetic team of highly intellectual and creative developers. We work on bleeding edge projects using a variety of different technologies. We are looking for a bright, innovative and curious developer who wants to work on a wide range of technologies to provide our clients with elegant and performant web interfaces. The team is constantly pushing the boundaries of user interface development by leveraging the latest available tools and libraries. The team works very closely with the internal enterprise infrastructure teams to assess and develop using these technologies. The challenges we strive to solve include scalability/performance related to dealing with very large data sets.
The role involves collaborating with global team members and provides a unique opportunity to network with a diverse group of people.
The candidate who fills the role of a Java/User Interface developer on our team will be involved in building and creating UI web solutions and data services from the requirements stage through deployment. A successful candidate is self-motivated, innovative, thinks outside the box, has excellent communication skills and is able to work with clients and stakeholders from both the business and technology with ease.
Work on a task which may involve eliciting requirements from an end user or involve solving a scalability/performance issue
-Propose a design/whiteboard/brainstorming with the team. The design is reviewed by his/her peers and signed off.
-In line with the best practices, develop clean, well-structured and maintainable code.
-Imbibe the best principles of the agile methodology
-Rapid prototyping of the solution and gathering user feedback
-Documentation – Clear and concise documentation is a must
-Deployment into QA/ UAT and eventually production
-Design code with reuse in mind such that the grad can showcase his/her work for potential reuse in the firm
-Participate in various team/client/training and volunteering events
-Participate in global tech forums
-Encouraged to participate in innovation days
Minimum 5 years in the below technology areas:
- Java [multi-threading, db performance, memory profiling etc]
- Linux, basic scripting
- DB2/Sybase/NoSQL technologies such as Elastic
- Exploration of analytics and machine learning technologies
