Enterprise Infrastructure (EI)
EI is that global technology group that delivers the software and hardware technology solutions that make our businesses run. The team manages the production, operations, and engineering of our data centers, voice and data networking solutions, wireless technologies, server and database operations, desktops, servers and mainframes.
The Web Operations Level 3 team is part of the Enterprise Computing Organization at Morgan Stanley. The team manages and supports the Web/Middleware hosting platform at Morgan Stanley. Products supported include Apache, Tomcat, Microsoft IIS as well as other core infrastructure products such as load balancers. This position is for a Hosting and Client Infrastructure operations manager located in Montreal.
The primary web hosting platform is built on Linux and hosts applications running in Apache, Tomcat and WebSphere Application server. A good understanding of J2EE, servlet containers and multi-tier application architecture and basic system administration skills in Unix/Linux are expected.
- Manage a 4-6 person operations level 3 team
- Be the technical subject matter expert and assist with problem determination, resolution and root cause analysis
- Work with customers to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement to make the plant more stable and resilient
- Provide level 3 escalation coverage for the NA time zone
- Work with engineering and product management for new feature requests, bug fixes and define and document operational procedures for the team to use
