  • The candidate will join a team of 3 people of vast experience with expertise in systems development and operation. The candidate will be responsible to support the Development team, to maintain the data base servers operations for the test, development, QA and production environments. The candidate will also have to participate to the implementation of solutions led by the technical operation team. The candidate will have to work closely with analysts, developers and the system administrator.

    Roles and responsibilities
    • Production support
    o Install, configure and administrate the servers’ data base
    o Ensure the health, optimization and evolution of the production systems
    o Participate and improve the data base services recovery plan
    o Ensure the operations of the data back-up and deferred processes
    o Realize data analysis and performance
    o Prepare and realize tests and systems updates
    o Take over the technical problem-solving activities
    o Present recommendations to the proper person
    o Take over the production support tasks 24/7

    • Development support
    o Assist the developers with the optimized code realization
    o Realize the technical and functional analysis
    o Develop complex processes resulted by stored procedures, DTSx, etc.
    o Elaborate and conceive data process solutions
    o Assist the development team with the test activities
    o Document the data base processes

    Requirements
    • Essential : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
    • Essential : Bilingualism (French / English)
    • Essential : Flexible work schedules and able to work at night and during weekends if needed
    • Essential : Minimum 5 years of experience as a full-time data base administrator
    • Essential : Knowledge of Windows environment and networks
    • Essential : Knowledge of SQL server 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014 (minimum 4 years)
    • Essential : Experience with VMware vSphere products
    • Important : Experience with MySQL servers
    • Important : Experience in optimization
    • Important : Experience with SSIS and SSRS
    • Asset : Experience with OLAP module

    Education
    • Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science or any combination of experience / education related to information systems and network technology deemed relevant
