Costing Engineer

Responsible for all aspects of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Statement of Work (SOW) process including: understanding of client needs, assessing the requirements of the RFP / EOI, technical and commercial proposal development, timely and proper reviews and signoffs, final proposal production, and ensuring follow up activities are properly defined and agreed upon.
Accountabilities:
Timely and accurate cost estimates
Meeting customer deadlines in the sales process
Responsabilities:
•Review technical specifications for customer programs and develop Statement of Work (SOW)
•Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing to create BOM and BOL
•Update and track quotation tracking forms
•Liaison with Customer
•Responsible for managing the proposal process
•Gathers and organizes information from many sources, assigns priorities to work and ensures the timeliness of the final product for proposals
•Edits and organizes all technical written materials supplied by support groups including organization of key sections, tables, exhibits, and attachments
•Ensures that all technical writing supports overall sales strategy / key themes and that the proposal is consistent and will re-write and/or edit to ensure accuracy if needed
•Ensures that all proposals are reviewed technically and commercially and all appropriate signoffs are obtained prior to submissions
•Obtains customer feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement.
•Looks for new ways to improve cycle time and overall effectiveness of proposal generation while maintaining and improving on proposal
Qualifications:
•Bachelors of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
•Minimum 3 years of experience
•Superior writing and communication skills.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
•Ability to develop innovative solutions to unique and challenging problems
•Excellent organizational skills
•Ability to work to time constraints and meet tight deadlines
•Excellent teamwork skills
•Project Management skills
•Experience costing bills of material, transfer of production, stranded cost, etc.
•Must be willing to travel to customer location
