POSITION
The Continuing Education department at Champlain Regional College (St. Lambert Campus) is seeking Content Specialists to develop evaluation and partial training tools, on an hourly basis, for the following competencies that are part of the Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) services for our AEC program «Transportation and Logistics Dispatch Specialist».
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Applied Information Technology for Dispatchers - BJ7B
Competency Description:
The Content Specialist will develop evaluation/partial training tools that assess/develop candidates understanding of the common software applications, tools, and devices that are used in transportation and logistics management; how companies use this technology to increase efficiency and decrease costs; and the common tools and software available to dispatchers.
Laws, regulations and customs procedures for transportation - BJ8B
Competency description:
The Content Specialist will develop evaluation/partial training tools that assess/develop candidates understanding of various customs laws, regulations, and procedures, and the steps necessary to allow merchandise to clear customs and to prepare the shipment of merchandise abroad.
Operations management for transportation and logistics in North America - BJ9B
Competency description:
The Content Specialist will develop evaluation/partial training tools that assess/develop candidates understanding of the planning and management of ground transportation operations; calculating the costs of shipments for full-truckloads (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) loads; managing vehicle fleets; and dispatching fleets of vehicles, taking into account such factors as the correct establishment of delivery and picking routes, the optimization of return trips, and the judicious choice of equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
-Thorough knowledge of the dispatching industry for transportation and logistics
Education:
-University degree in a related field of study is an asset
Experience:
-Evaluation and teaching experience is an asset
Other:
-Proficiency in English, both oral and written
SCHEDULE: As required, with a variable schedule (Monday to Sunday)
ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
