    Summary of Position:

    The core responsibility of the Production/Materials Planner is to convert long range plans into short term finite production schedules, while optimizing the plant labour and equipment utilization. Although the focus on scheduling is within a short term window (e.g. twelve weeks prior to production), the plans will continue to have a degree of volatility that will require the need to manage risk. The schedule needs to be developed taking into consideration a total cash view: productivity, DIOH (Days inventory on hand) and CFR (Case Fill Rate) while demonstrating and applying the Kraft Heinz values. This position is the main contact between the shop floor, the Network Production Planner and the suppliers, the Finite Scheduler will require strong influence skills to manage across these stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    -Develops finite production schedules that are optimized using run rules and demonstrated outputs by working collaboratively with the plant’s personnel.
    -Is highly knowledgeable of their portfolio regarding run rules, labour utilization, and process & packaging equipment, sanitation and Quality requirements which may involve managing allergens constraints. Has to explain and communicates these run rules/constraints to some stakeholders such as the Supply Planner.
    -Is responsible to order raw & pack materials for their portfolio from the supplier and make sure that the production lines are always adequately supplied while maintaining the lowest level of inventory. Will work with the supplier to address service or capacity issues. Will escalate recurrent supplier issues to the Site Product Supply Manager.
    -Establishes strong relationships with key stakeholders: Suppliers, Production Leader Coach, Supervisors, Team Captains, Receiving & Material Handling, Supply Planners, Commercialization teams, Quality, Maintenance, transportation. When issues arise, the Finite Scheduler takes the lead on identifying solutions and working across the organization to problem solve without compromising Product Supply KPIs.
    -Is committed to continuous improvement through empowerment and management by data. -Seeks ways to improve cycle time, CTS and other KPIs. Is at ease with facts based problem solving tools, such as Root Cause Analysis (5Why’s, A3…).
    -Has to maintain the pertinent parameters in the material and vendor master files, manage & maintain the BOMs in SAP and ensures integrity of data between the various systems (Schedule X, SAP).
    -Supports site productivity and Commercialization projects which impact formulation, operation mode, labour utilization, equipment outputs... Most projects will require a capacity analysis to be performed by the finite scheduler in collaboration with the Supply Planner.
    Provides support to other team members during vacation & absenteeism including the Product Supply team at the Ingleside plant and the Don Mills Head Office. It will involve working at these facilities when needed.
    -Leverages and engages with the COE and seeks current best practices.


    -Bachelors in business, engineering or another relevant field is required
    -5 plus years of demonstrated experience in operations, plant production or other relevant field
    -Is proficient in Schedule X (or other finite scheduling tools)
    -Is strong in SAP (MRP tools) and EXCEL
    -APICS, CPIM Certification would be considered an asset
    -Required: fully bilingual in French and English
    -Team player with strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills
    -Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
    -Problem solver who is detail oriented with good negotiation skills
    -Can work in fast-paced environment
