    Mandate

    This role is part of the Enterprise Wealth Planning Group’s team of subject matter experts and acts as a point of contact for providing financial planning support specifically to regional HNW Wealth Planners (HNW WP).

    The incumbents leverage their deep subject matter expertise in financial planning and NaviPlan to directly work with HNW WP to create the HNW plans that will be delivered by the HNW WP.

    his Wealth Planning Analyst role for High Net Worth exists to help HNW WP present specific client financial planning strategies that broaden the dialogue, consolidate client assets, and increase revenues. The scope of the role is to support HNW WP on clients of $7+ million.

    A critical objective for incumbents in this role creating a high quality strategic plan that assists the HNW WP to focus on their technical roles, thus driving increased profitability, improved market share and NPS scores.

    Key Accountabilities

    Business Delivery and Operational Effectiveness (65%)

    -

    Work one-on-one with regional HNW Wealth Planners to help with the development and delivery (if required) of wealth management solutions predominantly focused on high net worth clients. Which includes:

    -

    Determining the clients objectives
    -

    Analyzing the clients current situations
    -

    Developing appropriate advice, strategies and recommendations and providing alternative scenarios
    -

    Spotting opportunities, anchoring, and coaching on approaching
    -

    Connecting with Planning specialist (tax, legal, insurance) to confirm/review


    -

    Execute a disciplined approach for all plan creation to support Regional or National business growth and while focusing on the client experience


    -

    Reinforce BMO Wealth sales processes and the Enterprise Wealth Planning client experience by identifying gaps & best practices to ensure delivery of complex wealth plans to clients.


    -

    Look for trends in planning and awareness articles for publication through internal PCD/PB communications vehicles

    -

    Develop and conduct presentations for and directly to clients where appropriate and called upon

    Client and Relationship Management (25%)
    -

    Work with regional HNW Wealth Planners to increase awareness of the resources available to them
    -

    Provide insight and share expertise with team members for advanced financial planning concepts; such as, succession planning and philanthropy and other complex wealth services offerings.
    -

    Demonstrate a consultative and collaborative planning approach in conversations with regional HNW Wealth Planners , acting as a member of a client team, to facilitate the BMO Wealth Management desired client experience and to achieve business goals
    -

    Support the success of the client team by ensuring the effectiveness of team members, providing appropriate coaching to deliver the integrated offer in a cohesive manner
    -

    Provide proactive, integrated, and customized advice that creates easy to follow implementation steps of the recommended wealth planning strategies to help clients achieve their financial and personal goals
    -

    Participate in client discovery and presentation meetings (if required)

    Risk Management and Control (10%)
    -

    Ensure proper adherence to all aspects of First Principles Our Code of Conduct and Ethics


    -

    Protect the Bank’s assets by adhering to all banking, investment and lending regulations (as appropriate), Policies and Procedures, legal and ethical requirements, process requirements, bank guidelines and established risk guidelines

    -

    Maintain a high standard of care in the creation of financial plans

    -

    Adhere to all appropriate regulatory bodies governing an incumbent’s designations
    Qualifications
    Knowledge & Skills

    -

    A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar role
    -

    Complex financial planning experience is essential
    -

    In depth understanding and knowledge of Canadian taxation system, financial planning and estate planning matters
    -

    University degree
    -

    PFP or CFP Designation, Pl. Fin. Designation (Quebec)
    -

    Ability to work both as part of a team and independently to complete tasks
    -

    Ability to prioritize and organize simultaneous assignments and meet deadlines
    -

    Strong working knowledge of NaviPlan
    -

    Other Planning Designations
    -

    Life Insurance Designations considered an asset
    -

    Experience interacting with and selling to IAs and or High Net Worth clients
    -

    Above average analytical and judgement skills
    -

    Strong knowledge of MS office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook and power point
    -

    A background in one of the following areas would be considered an asset:

    Similar role with another investment dealer
    -

    Investment Advisor contemplating a career shift
    -

    Financial Planner
    -

    Desire for future growth potential and increasing responsibilities

    Knowledge of advanced financial planning principals
    -

    Bilingual (French & English)
