Operations and Compliance Technology (OCT) is an innovation-driven organization comprised of functionally aligned development teams who support critical firm functions such as Legal, Compliance and Operations. OCT develops strategic solutions that support key business processes, including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Anti-Money Laundering and Trade Surveillance. OCT manage key relationships within the Institutional Securities Group, MS Wealth Management, Enterprise Operational Risk & Control (EORC), Risk, Internal Audit, Operations and Compliance.
The global tax team is looking for a senior manager in charge of the Montreal technology teams. The candidate will have the responsibility of technical deliveries , including the client relationship, oversight of production status and program level oversight for projects execution.
As one of the main faceoff to senior stakeholders, the candidate will need to communicate efficiently and proactively to create a trust and partnership relationship with his clients and other teams. As the link between technology teams and the business clients, the candidate will need to use sound judgment and advisory to provide required services at optimal costs.
As part of his tasks, the candidate will compose and organize his teams around an Agile operating model to ensure efficiency and continuous deliveries as well as tight partnership with the client operations teams. The candidate will have to ensure proper training and career development for his management staff and his overall team.
Regarding production oversight, the candidate will continuously improve the quality of platform to minimize production risks and incidents in collaboration with partner support teams. In case of incident, the candidate will be the primary representative of the technology team towards other stakeholders.
At a broader level, the candidate needs to ensure compliance of his group with firm directives and policies will control budgets and strategic roadmaps to ensure consistency of his teams across the board.
The candidate will report to the global tax manager and, in addition to business side users, closely collaborate with his technology counterparts and other senior managers at the department level.
-Oversight and Montreal teams and projects at the program level
-Ensure delivery of projects with respect of firm policies and procedures
-Build and organize the management and development teams, ensure optimal communication and synergies across his group
-Represent the team in case of incidents escalations
-Manage the applications as a portfolio manager and set strategy for the sub department
-Contribute to technical and functional optimization strategic initiatives
-Ensure active people management, including hiring, training and career development
-Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience in dealing with senior stakeholders
-Strong persuasion and influence skills
-Strong project management and program management skills with relevant experience
-Ability to define, articulate and execute detailed action plans and strategies
-Strong hands on experience in Agile development organizer
-Strong experience in teams and people management, including people personal development
-Strong ability to multi task and prioritize
-Ability to manage vendors relationship and negotiate contracts
-General Financial knowledge
-Project management certifications is a plus
-Tax knowledge is a plus
