What is the opportunity?
As the Manager, Auto Finance Adjudication, you will lead a team of skilled adjudicators in the adjudication of automotive finance products and complex credit applications. You will maintain a balance between supporting business growth and respecting risk management and risk appetite. You will apply expert credit knowledge and effective leadership to facilitate a culture of excellence.
What will you do?Lead and motivate a team of adjudicators to reach business objectives of meeting client expectations and managing risk.Effectively negotiate and resolve escalations from various business partners.Apply innovative and strategic thinking to act on time sensitive opportunitiesPartner and collaborate across Canadian Banking and key Functions as a trusted advisor.Defining risk appetite by identifying current and emerging trends and their associated risks. Establish performance goals and mandates to measure the team’s performance.Manage team resources effectively and be accountable for meeting/exceeding established benchmarks.Implement oversight and calibration exercises to ensure consistency in credit decisions. Delegate appropriate lending authority, based on individual skill level, and ensure authorities are adhered to, reviewed and understood.Be accountable for quality, accuracy and performance.Act as a subject matter expert for development of policy, metrics, and portfolio management for the Auto Finance product.Collaborate with colleagues to optimize best practices amongst regional adjudication centers.Drive employee engagement through effective communication of how their work impacts sales/service cycle and overall client experience.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have5+ years’ Credit or Risk Management experience.Strong team leadership experience.Fluency in French and English (oral and written).Proven ability to understand the bigger picture and effectively balance operational service level requirements, risk appetite, and servicing clients. Solid lending experience, including Delegated Lending Authority as an individual contributor and as a leader. In depth knowledge of retail credit products and policies across the credit spectrum. Demonstrated ability to apply credit principles in an operational environment. Comfortable in a role that involves interface and negotiation with senior management.Exceptional conflict management, negotiation and influencing skills.
Nice-to-haveExperience managing in a call centre environment.Small business and /or commercial credit experience.
