    We are seeking for an E&O / D&O Specialist, for our national Corporate Specialty Solutions department.

    Location: Montreal, Toronto, Western Canada

    The incumbent will report to the Manager or to the Property and Liability Director, Specialty Solutions, Corporate Commercial Lines. The incumbent will provide underwriters in Professional Liability (E&O) and Directors and Officers (D&O) insurance, across Canada, with technical advice on underwriting these business lines in order to ensure the consistent application of corporate guidelines throughout the brokerage network, as well as high-quality service and efficient management of insurance risks. The Specialist will play an important role in the growth of these business lines.

    Main duties

    Participate in the development of new products or the improvement of existing forms and products in support of the company's growth and profitability objectives.

    Act as an underwriting expert on issues involving selection or retention, within the parameters of the company's underwriting philosophy, for all files referred in accordance with guidelines for delegation of authority.

    Design and develop underwriting rules and update them in the E&O and D&O sections of Intact Documentation, making sure to keep products and rules consistent with those of the regions as applicable.

    Provide underwriters with technical advice and coaching to ensure consistent application of corporate guidelines. Build and maintain productive working relationships with underwriters through regular communication on topics and issues associated with these business lines.

    Participate in projects targeted by the company and in the different technical committees, rate committees, and so on.

    Conduct the necessary quality control audits on underwriting files and draft reports on the findings.

    Provide for the required technical training of underwriters, notably via discussion groups and the Underwriting newsletter.

    Contribute to systems development (updates, testing, etc.).

    Your Skills

    - Minimum 10 years' experience in E&O and D&O Insurance- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience- CIP or FCIP (an asset)- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work toward corporate objectives and adapt to change and a fast-paced work setting- Self-starting, initiative and ability to work in a team- Good work ethic, accountability, and the ability to think proactively and outside of routine patterns- Be prepared to serve teams across Canada- Stay up-to-date with recent developments in the market- Excellent written and oral communication skills- Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken (consider an asset)- Willing to travel on occasion

    Eligibility to work in Canada

    Applicants must be permanently eligible to work in Canada upon hire. Proof of eligibility for permanent roles may come in the form of a Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian citizenship certificate, permanent residence card or confirmation.
