Taboo of tattoos
If you're a hippie, you can cut your hair. If you're a slob you can throw on some slacks. If you're a biker, you borrow a car. If you're a jailbird, you can ditch your dungarees. Yet, for individuals covered in visible tattoos, there just aren't many ways of hiding them from mixed company and civil society. And the buttoned-down set just love to sneer at any type of social misfit.

Will Mobile Phones Take Over In the Office?
Up until now talking on a mobile phone while at the office was pooh-poohed by employers. Some see it as an unwelcome and disruptive portal to an employee's personal life. There's an increasing trend of companies opting for mobiles phones for every employee, instead of the traditional landline attached to their desks.

I don't want to be a manager!
Middle management can seem like an over-crowded purgatory of budgets and deadlines sandwiched between upper management, who make the real cash, and lowly employees, who do the fun work. This article is an argument for rejecting first- or second-level management opportunities. Apparently results from a survey rank "promotion" as tops, in terms of stressful life events: divorce, moving, and raising teenagers were other possible options.

Cool jobs you can actually get
If you feel blah about your current job, perhaps it's just not cool. Here's an excellent list of entry-level opportunities that will lead to you becoming the envy of future cocktail-party chitchat. Though spies definitely can't go around bragging about their jobs to everyone - they have to say they "work for the government," which is less cool. And not everyone can be a model. So the list's recommendations seem to overlook that some of these opportunities require actual talent.

- 40% of respondents believe their employer could do more to brighten up the office by placing a plant on every employee's desk.
- 50% admitted to taking off more annual sick days than the UK average because they are affected by their miserable office surroundings.
- 24% of workers describe their environments as stimulating.
- 70% of UK workers believe a more pleasant working environment would make them more productive.
