Workplace workout
Workplace calisthenics have been all the rage for quite some time in Japan, where employees
routinely get together for morning exercise classes. This practice is now making its North American
debut — in Winnipeg, of all places. The Manitoba government recently introduced a program
called “Workplaces in Motion,” the aim of which is to provide resources and tools to
employers looking to whip their staff into shape and reduce the overall weight on group
insurance and the provincial health care system.

Seven things employees want most to be happy at work
Employees are such a demanding bunch — or are they? This report covers the seven things
employees need to be happy on the job. Surprisingly, many workplace specialists are
finding that cash, benefits and an expensive office chair won’t necessarily put smiles
on their employees’ faces. In fact, more discrete and illusive workplace matters like respect,
trust and fairness lead to satisfied, loyal and productive employees. Of course, in extreme

Image is everything, even online
A young Andre Agassi clad in hot pink spandex and acid-washed shorts taught
us that image was everything on the tennis court. Times have changed, but
image remains an important ingredient of success in both life and business.
However, some Internet users are only vaguely aware of their “e-dentity,” i.e.,
their online alter ego. Questions these virtual strangers ought to consider range
from having a website to answering e-mails in a timely fashion. After all, people
search for you, just as you search for them.
